Two championship courses, complemented by a well designed nine-hole facility, provide variety and challenge for golfers of all standards: The Lakes Course (Par 72; 6,781 yards) provides a great test of both golf and nerve! A well as being a challenge providing any golfer with considerable satisfaction, the delightful setting offers many stretches of water inhabited by a variety of water birds who show considerable interest as your ball drops in the water. The parkland setting of the Woodside Course (Par 73; 6,605 yards) means that it is largely free of water hazards, but it nevertheless demands thought and respect if a good score is to be achieved. The bunkers, recently redesigned by our outstanding head greenkeeper Angus, are a true eye and ball catcher. Our competitions include monthly Medals and Stablefords, many trophies as well as friendly matches against clubs in the area. We recently joined the Lincolnshire Handicap League and enjoyed our first year competing ‘on an official level’ against other clubs. Our competition days are Saturday and Wednesday when we usually tee-off around 10:00 am. In the summer (May to September) we try to go out a little earlier on a Saturday and start around 8:50 am. We are especially proud of our cooperation with the Men’s Section and schedule mixed competitions in our fixture list whenever possible on weekends and bank holidays. For more detail on our activities please view our fixture list. Our members range from those who just started playing to those with years of experience and low handicaps. Our motto is to have fun and enjoy the company of fellow golfers while trying to improve our games. If you would like to join us, please contact Lady Captain Sue Waldren or any other member of the committee. We always enjoy seeing new faces. You will be made most welcome! |
